Kids Kung Fu in the
Blue Mountains
Helping children build confidence, resilience and character through traditional Kung Fu.
Every parent wants to see their child grow into a confident, respectful and capable young person.
At Kung Fu Blue Mountains, we use the lifelong practice of traditional Kung Fu to help children develop confidence, resilience, focus and self-discipline in a fun, structured and supportive environment where every child is encouraged to grow at their own pace.
Helping Children Grow Through Kung Fu
Every child is different.
Some are naturally confident. Others are quiet, shy or unsure of themselves. Some love physical activity, while others are stepping into an organised class for the very first time.
Our role is not to compare children or push them to keep up with others. It is to help each child discover what they are capable of through patient instruction, consistent practice and encouragement.
We believe the lessons learned through Kung Fu extend far beyond the training hall. As children overcome challenges, they develop confidence, resilience, discipline and respect that they carry into school, at home and throughout life.

What Children Develop Through Training
Every class is designed to help children develop skills that support them both inside and outside the training hall.
Confidence
Developing the courage to face challenges and believe in themselves.
Focus
Building concentration, self-control and the ability to stay present.
Respect
Treating themselves, others and their community with care and consideration.
Resilience
Learning that mistakes are part of growth and perseverance leads to improvement.
Self-Discipline
Understanding that consistent effort leads to meaningful progress.
Balance & Coordination
Developing strength, balance, coordination and body awareness.

What To Expect
From the moment you arrive, you and your child will be greeted by name with a traditional Kung Fu salutation before being welcomed into our kwoon (training hall).
We'll show you around the kwoon, introduce you to our Ancestor Wall, where we honour the generations of teachers who have passed this knowledge on, and explain a little about the traditions that continue to shape our school today.
Before class begins, your child will learn a few simple Kung Fu stances and have the opportunity to meet the other students. No previous experience is required. We simply encourage every child to join in, do their best and enjoy the experience.
As the class gets underway, they'll train alongside the other children through a combination of games, drills and traditional Kung Fu exercises. They'll be encouraged to ask questions, try new things, make mistakes and begin to discover what they are capable of.
From the moment they step onto the training floor, we treat every child as though they are already part of our school. They aren't there to watch—they're there to participate, learn and begin their own journey.
Every class finishes with our traditional bow out before the students form a tunnel of high fives, celebrating one another's effort and welcoming new students into the Kung Fu Blue Mountains family. It's a simple tradition that leaves most children smiling as they walk off the training floor.
For us, a trial class isn't just an introduction—it's the beginning of a child's Kung Fu journey.
Our Kids Kung Fu Programs
Every stage of our Kids Kung Fu program is designed to meet children where they are in their development. As they grow in age, confidence and maturity, the way we teach evolves with them—providing the right balance of challenge, encouragement and responsibility at each stage of their journey.
